A technical overview of what makes this site tick.
Congratulations you have successfully navigated a reasonable maze of software to be able to read this. Your browser eventually got to our IBM eServer running Fedora Core 3 64 bit Linux on twin AMD Opteron 2 ghz processors.
Then what? Well this is where the Linux operating system takes over and hands you to the apache web server listening on port 80 to see who you are after. Squiredeck does web hosting so a lot of domains are all pointing at our server and at this point it needs to send you off to the correct web site content.
Well it doesn't necessarily stop there. If you were after one of our Ploned clients (Squiredeck itself is one) then this would have been detected by Vitual Host Monster and sent you off to the Zope application server (listening on port 8080) for processing. From there anything could happen as a Plone client can add dynamic web content anytime from anywhere.
You could be one of those domains for as little as $165 pa, just as our clients have done, as listed in the Clients link from the navigation area.
