A technical overview of what makes this site tick.

Congratulations you have successfully navigated a reasonable maze of software to be able to read this. Your browser eventually got to our IBM eServer running Fedora Core 11 64 bit Linux on a quad core Intel processor.

Then what? Well this is where the Linux operating system takes over and hands you to the Apache web server listening on port 80 to see who you are after. Squiredeck does web hosting so a lot of domains are all pointing at our server and at this point it needs to send you off to the correct web site content.

Well it doesn't necessarily stop there. If you were after one of our Ploned clients (Squiredeck itself is one) then this would have been detected by Apache and redirected you to Virtual Host Monster which is part of the Zope application server (listening on port 8080) for processing. From there your Plone client takes over, which can have dynamic web content added anytime from anywhere thru the browser.

You could be one of those domains for as little as $165 pa, just as our clients have done, as listed in the Clients link from the navigation area.
